El Observatorio de Inteligencia Artificial en Bibliotecas de América Latina surge como un espacio de investigación crítica, monitoreo y articulación regional frente al avance de la IA en el ecosistema de la información. Nuestro marco se apoya en principios de derechos humanos, justicia social, acceso abierto y soberanía de datos. Entre nuestros objetivos se encuentran: relevar experiencias y proyectos de IA en bibliotecas latinoamericanas; analizar sus implicancias éticas, laborales y técnicas; y producir insumos para la formulación de políticas públicas y lineamientos profesionales. Nuestras líneas de trabajo abarcan el mapeo de casos, la elaboración de marcos de evaluación, la construcción de repositorios de recursos y la generación de espacios de formación y debate que vinculen a bibliotecas, comunidades y desarrolladores tecnológicos.
